Indian Larry (Larry Desmedt) was born in New York , in April 1949 A good year for bikes . Harley Panhead and Indian Chiefs ruled the American road, a future legend in the Art of choppers born.

In 2001 invited Indian Larry Sturgis run with Jesse James and Chopper Dave , which was filmed for Discovery Channel ' s Motorcycle Mania .
also asked Larry participate in a new show "The Great Biker Build Off" series, a space in which a group of mechanical wizards competing to build the best motorcycle.
Ultimately Larry was pitted against his good friend Billy Lane, Choppers Inc. In the final public assessment, Larry , as they considered, was the winner, but wanted to share the title.
He was featured on the cover of the magazine The Horse / BackStreet Choppers numerous times as well as Easyriders and just about every motorcycle magazine, went so far as Japan and Finland .
One of his most famous motorcycles, which gave the name of Grease Monkey was declared by the magazine Easy Rider the best motorcycle of the year.

Larry was invited to show Liquid Steel in Charlotte, NC . The show on Saturday, Larry 8.000 entertained a lot of fans doing their famous tricks show. He mounted his motorcycle and made only one more of his tricks. He rose on the seat and made surf on the motorcycle, this slowed and Larry was released, strongly head banging. He suffered a trauma severe head and therefore died in hospital the following night surrounded by his wife and friends.
Larry was considered among motorcycle enthusiasts U.S. design as an artist, a sculptor of steel and one of the most ingenious mechanics who knew.
He rode his life as a free horse with the wind in your hair and sun on your face. Larry was the kind of person he wanted, accomplished his dream of a lone wolf at the wheel of their bikes and learned to run, to strip their horses and enjoy the freedom to travel hundreds of miles above the speed limit safely, without meeting a soul on the road.
Indian Larry is and will be the best builder of motorcycles U.S. Choppers. His designs fell in love and made love much more the world of jet cut, went on to become a legend in motorcycling because their machines did an art, an expression of his view of synchronicity, perfection, elegance and beauty must be respected to the fullest.
