The Primitives - Blow Up (1967)

The Primitives are formed in Oxford, England in the mid-sixties.
The band was led by vocalist Paul Bradley Couling, who was better known by his pseudonym Mal Ryder.
His career began with a few moderately successful singles in England, but the big step I took to turn mainly by Norway and Italy, where he achieved the status of the megastars at the height of The Beatles.
already enshrined Blow Up they recorded in a subsidiary in Italy RCA.
The album is very amazing because of the quality of the performances, the instrumental skills, R & B aesthetics and the impressive voice of Evil
Of course, to win the Italian public to sing some songs in the local language and do not not bad.
Among the songs sung in Italian stresses Yeeeeeeh! which is a rewrite of the classic "I Ain` t gonna eat out my heart anymore "where the guitar solo is the climax.
the band had an uncertain future with Mal starting his solo career, drummer returning to England to be part of the primeval formation of a band called Dire Straits, and the other members are forever lost in a dense cloud of smoke.

Dara Puspita - A Go Go (1967)

Puspita Dara was a band formed in Indonesia by 1964.
was composed entirely of female members, unlike hundreds of pretenders, playing their instruments and wrote their own songs.
The band was led by sisters Rachman, who achieved superstar status in his country. Dara
Puspita sound is really exciting, dirty, with instruments played with force and using high doses of fuzz and echo effects. Appears sweetened only by the vocal harmonies. The clear sound of garage rock, Dara Puspita would have been impossible achieve if they were not amateurs with little knowledge but basic to play their instruments.
were influenced by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and the movement of the British Invasion.
This album of 1967 no major developments in music, compared to previous albums, but saves on emotion and adrenaline. As color data contains the cover of The Bee Gees classic "To Love Somebody", on the most underground, full of fuzz I've heard.
Enjoy.

Los Mockers - Complete Recordings (1966-67)

If a country had emerged in English-speaking maybe his name would be now among the greats who competed in the 60 `s. At least, it is possible that his story had had more continuity, rather than being truncated at its best. But Los Mockers were Uruguayans, and during the short life of the group did not reach beyond the River Plate. Long forgotten, from the 80's have been published on both sides of the Atlantic several partial reprints of their discography and recent topics have included yours in contemporary movies. (25 watts for example). Other similar groups have emerged in Europe / America, but this is the first time the complete collection of all songs recorded by the original Mockers 60s.

The original lp Mockers was recorded in a few sessions of one or two songs per day, spread over 1966. It was an era of rapid change in the music scene, and between one session and another group also evolved rapidly. In this compilation presents the Lp in original order, the first 2 songs are more developed under the end of this period.

This collection would not be complete without the theme of "confusion" and "captain gray", published in a single very rare in early 1968. Like many groups of the late 60s the Mockers could not resist the fascination of incorporating orchestral instruments. Had traveled and experienced a long way from the basic R & B of its inception. Also included in this compilation as an extra gem, a demo recorded in 1965 at a radio station in Montevideo, which led to the signing of the group when they were still called "The Chains" (later I'll upload a few demos but maybe). Well, yes, but the sound quality is not comparable to the sublime recordings later, the strength of the group and is remarkable in the incendiary and burning version of Willie Dixon "I just want to make love to you". In order to listen to and enjoy, believe me, they will not regret it. This disc is not wasted.

Los Mockers - Los Mockers (1966)

In the Southern Cone, and more specifically to the banks of the Rio de la Plata emerged in the sixties a handful of great bands beat and Los Mockers surely occupy a place on the podium.
If the Shakers were "The Beatles", Los Mockers were clearly "The Rolling Stones."
The band was formed back in 1962 in Uruguay and in 1966 established in Argentina.
By 1965 the band enters Polo Pereira, who was an excellent emulator for Mick Jagger and the band finally takes shape.
This album was released in late 1966 in Argentina. The record does not support the album's release, so sales were low. In Uruguay, however, the album sold very well due to radial diffusion.
The topics are shocking, and we refer directly to The Rolling Stones, playing a dirty R & B in creative compositions that could pass for outtakes from the English band.
include "Can` t Be a lie "and" Empty Harem ", but here there is not filled in all the themes are original and essential.
Enjoy this excellent band, and Mods and Rockers, Mockers!

The Summer Sounds - Up Down (1969)

For one friend who asked for something summery, here is this marvel.
The Summer Sounds is a band originally from Massachusetts formed in the mid-sixties.
manage to publish in 1969 his only LP, Up Down, which is a rarity in the world of Garage Rock, not the musical side, as it has no no point outstanding or innovative, but from the way it was conceived.
Up Down is a concept album that tells a love story that occurred precisely during a summer vacation, which is not very common.
One of the main influences of The Summer Sounds notable are The Zombies, relying on the omnipresent sound of an organ.
The songs are very nice, with young voices, based more on the idealized love and the sadness of not finding it, than anything else.
Something else to note is that the material is written by the band almost entirely, only two covers in sight.
I hope you have respect, the album works well together with sleeping pills.

Incrowd - I'll be free (1966)

new trip to Holland and we move into 1966, a year after the formation of the band these guys were creating this wonder.
Incrowd had a short career that spanned from 1965 to 1968 and managed to record a handful of singles and the LP concerns us today.
were led by vocalist Wil Van Der Hurk, whose voice fits like a glove with R & B sound of the band.
The rest of the group was completed with the low Leendert Bouman, Jan Jonkman on guitar and a drummer whose name I do not agree, however for 1966 the band had experienced multiple lineup changes, leaving only Wilson as an original member.
The disc is composed mostly of their own songs among which include "I` ll be free "and" Half dollar man ", both pieces functioned as separate singles and beautiful melodies have adorned the electronic organ. Among
versions including album highlights "Mohair Sam" go back where it stopped.
In the seventies were reunited, but the magic does not last a lifetime and it was a fiasco.

What Color Is Throat Cancer Awareness

The Seeds - No Escape! (1966) EP

The young Richard Marsh in his early teens in Salt Lake City never imagined that it would form one of the most brilliant and influential bands of Music Underground.
started playing in bands Doo Wop with the name Little Richie Marsh, later changed its name to Sky Saxon and accompany an unknown band called "Electra Fires and the Soul Rockers."
But his life would turn 180 degrees to form the band garagera par excellence "The Seeds".
Before recording their majestic debut album, the band released a series of 45s that left the audience with their mouths open.
This EP from 1966 includes some of those old singles, which highlights the flip side of that legendary first recording.
The subject matter is "Daisy Mae", which leads us directly a decade earlier, on the theme, aesthetics and sound.
not miss the organ in Hooper I cannot seen to make you mine, his career would revolve around it.

Swamp Rats - Disco Still Sucks (1966-1967)

The Swamps Rats are formed from the remains that were left standing after the disappearance of the Fantastic Deejays. Originally from Pittsburgh were crowned as one of the best and most exciting rock bands, garage rock in that city.
lacked an innovative sound and repertoire mainly based versions of other artists, but countered this with madness, high doses of fuzz and debauchery.
With the arrival of Bob Hocko the band recorded a series of violent very close to the punk singles.
Without going to sound as insane as The Sonics, recorded their own version of Psycho.
also interpret Louie Louie (Sonics style), the megaclasico Hey joe, the Kinkesco "Till The End of the Day" and standards on the caliber of Tobacco Road and Midnight Hour.
In an act of courage, playing with the ballad The Beatles Here, There and Everywhere, and this is where they fail, losing all power, sounding soft and misplaced. Not to mention when trying to emulate The Rolling Stones, with its not easy, sound extremely amateur. In fact I could play guitar with more skill then I had the flu. Surely
Life may have run its normal course if this band had not existed, but the way things are.
Let's give one last chance to this album, before finally throwing in the toilet.
